Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our team for the Data Lake project. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure successful implementation of the Data Lake on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role involves gathering requirements, defining business processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver a scalable, product-centric Data Lake solution.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Requirement Gathering and Documentation:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements for the Data Lake.
- Translate business needs into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for development teams.
2. Data Analysis and Validation:
- Analyze data structures, business rules, and discrepancies in source systems like SAP S/4HANA.
- Conduct data profiling and validation to ensure accuracy and consistency during pipeline development.
3. Process Design and Optimization:
- Map current business processes and design optimized workflows for data ingestion, transformation, and analytics.
- Identify and define data quality rules, metadata requirements, and lineage tracking mechanisms.
4. Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Act as a liaison between client business domains, architects, and technical teams to ensure alignment on project goals.
- Facilitate communication to resolve issues, prioritize tasks, and ensure successful sprint outcomes.
5. Project Support:
- Support the creation and prioritization of the product backlog for sprint planning.
- Contribute to risk identification and mitigation strategies related to data sources and business processes.
- Provide input on user acceptance testing (UAT) and validate deliverables against business needs.
Experience & Skills Fitment:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in data-centric projects, preferably in Data Lake or Cloud-based solutions.
- Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA data structures and integration points will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in creating user stories, process flows, and documentation using tools like JIRA, Confluence, or similar.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably GCP), data processing frameworks (e.g., Dataproc, Dataflow) and data governance tools (e.g., Dataplex)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Nice to have
- Experience with data cataloging, metadata management, and lineage tracking tools.
- Knowledge of agile methodologies and sprint planning.
- Familiarity with data governance principles and best practices.
